I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, and raised in Asbury Park on the Jersey Shore.  Being a lover of both science and the humanities, I went on to earn a B.S. in Mathematics, B.A. in Philosophy, and Minor in Classics from Rutgers College, New Jersey, in 1991, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in 2008.  Following the tradition of the Ancient Greeks, I take a hands-on approach to philosophy, and try to put belief into practice. My current project involves building an Institute for Art and Philosophy in Ancient Stagira, Greece (next to my grandfather's village, Olympiada Halkidiki). I am also the owner of Chryssa's Rentals: Building Community through Shared Living, in Baltimore MD.  Aside from these projects, which are central to my life, I greatly enjoy travel and learning about other cultures, world history and literature, photography, hiking through unspoiled landscapes, and swimming in the Aegean Sea.
